About
Amanda J. Vella is a visual artist living in Burlington, VT. She received her BFA in studio art from Ithaca College in 2008. She currently teaches elementary visual art in the Colchester School District in Colchester, VT.
Amanda primarily works with acrylics on canvas and enjoys experimenting with collage and texture. She creates painterly images, often landscapes, that are largely focused on color, feeling and light. She has recently begun writing and illustrating picture books for children.
Amanda has exhibited her work at the South End Art Hop in Burlington, VT, the AVA gallery in Lebanon, NH, the Winooski Pop Up Gallery District in Winooski, VT, and the Community Arts Partnership Gallery in Ithaca, NY. Her fiction and poetry has been featured in The Best of the Burlington Writers Workshop series.
